Would someone please advise me how to find my lease number. Would this be a number which was assigned to my lease when it was executed. I see that gas wells have a lease number. There are currently several division orders out on property I leased to Surprise Valkey and then was transferred to Comstock. Those division orders only cover a portion of the survey I originally leased but I see that each well has its own lease number. I am confused as to what a company may want when they ask fir my lease number.
The lease number is actually the meter number in Texas not really your “lease from leasing-although there may be a number associated with that document at the county courthouse”. Some wells are all gathered together under one “lease number” or can be individual. It can be confusing. You can use the RRC map to pinpoint your wells, write down the lease number that goes with each one and then dig deeper to see if the wells are allocation wells or pooled wells. Use the as drilled plat and print it off for yourself so you can keep them straight.
Thank you. That is helpful.
