Lea County, NM - Oil & Gas Discussion archives

Are there no online services like courthousedirect or texasfile?

Not to my knowledge that goes back that far. There are a few that go back to the mid-1990's. But I would love to be wrong!

None yet. Eddy Co will go online Dec 2017. Lea hasn’t announced doing that.

I've been made an offer for my mineral rights but I'm not sure about the value. Looking at all the info I can find seems to indicate a very wide range of $ amounts. I'm not trying to be the top dog but also want to be in the fair value. I'm looking for those who are happy with their agreements & some $ balance.

@Hukill: Depends on where you are and the activity in the area... but I have seen $12K - $34K/ac in Lea Co.

Looking at the GIS Map of that area, there is no active drilling or permitting happening. Thus your minerals won't be worth much if anything. but stranger things have happened.

Ken Cobb, how do you view the GIS Maps? There seems to be a lot of interest in Lee County right now. We have signed four leases in the last 3 months.

go here and scroll over with your mouse, find your range and township and see what's happening.

Awesome! Thanks Ken Cobb

What section are you in? I have acreage in the same township, Section 31. I have not received an offer yet but will watch for one. Thanks.

Hi everyone, my name is Ginger and I am a Heir to some acres that my grandfather had and his dad’s. Been trying to find help with where I can get copays of deeds and also property. I have been sent a letter from a petroleum company and they are telling me they want to lease but I have no paperwork but they are interested in 3.73333 and 3/16 royalties. If anyone can help please direct me in the right way

I need to find proof and deeds

Ginger-I would suggest getting a Landman in Lea county to do the research, unless you live in proximity to Lovington. There are a couple of ways to find ownership. through the county clerks office and the abstract office. you give them the location and they can run the chain and see what and where your grandfather held these minerals and then how they were distributed. You will have to show how he passed these minerals in your family. The oil company making the offer can help if they choose to. you will most likely have to file an afidavit of heirship.
