Hi there. I have been going through the same process in Ohio. In my case, it’s probably more complicated due to many very old mineral rights on various parcels of land. Colorado may have a different process, but in Ohio legal documents have to be filed with the county in which the mineral rights are located and the O&G companies require documents as well to verify chain of ownership, probate documents, ect. We hired a lawyer - couldn’t have done it otherwise.
