Yes, the J Lyons survey is what I was referencing to. The EOG unit/pad is on the comer of FM 957 and CR 244 (southern entrance to CR 244) on the Steffek property. From what I heard most of these surveys/land were given to officers in the Mexican/American war. I heard J Lyons was scalped by Indians. My great-great grandfather came from Germany with his immediate family and was given 3000 acres in the northern vollentine/valletine Survey and Southern J Lyons survey (Lavaca river ran through the middle of it.) Most of them are buried in the Beslau cemetery on the corner of FM 957. Legend has it as the Mexicans retreated in the war they buried a lot of gold along the river under a tree. Have not found it yet…still looking…
