However, you may not find everything online on the older cases. I’ve had to go look through the microfiche before. About the only change you might find easily is the change of the well to a new operator by form 1073.

Then go to the 1002A which is the completion report. It will have the API number of the well. Sometimes you will get really lucky and at the top left it will have the PUN number as well. OTC Prod. Unit Number (PUN).

When I use the tax site, I use the legal description instead of the PUN if I don't know the PUN, then narrow it down using the completion report with the API to go back to the tax site and figure out which PUN goes with which API. Sometimes it takes a little effort. Sometimes those names are confusing!
