Yes.. I am near that area as well Eric. If you look at the maps Falls City is in a “honeyhole” of good oil. So anyone in the area is in a good spot if they own the mineral rights… But you need a good lawyer for all the land improvements and restitutions to the land…trees… cleanup and etc. Luckily my uncle is a lawyer and he has handled all that and says he has it covered pretty much… now just waiting on the rigs… We have a well that is near our land and is supposed to come our way.. but we will see, hopefully soon.
Medic thanks for the info. I am not a surface owner so the damage to the property doesn’t affect me. Who has your lease now and when does it expire?
Lease is not signed as of yet… supposed to hopefully go through by year’s end. EOG is the company. They gave an extremely good offer on everything, but lease amount is a bit on the low end after seeing other companies sell their leases for 3K-5K per acre. But royalty amount is great. My family is not greedy, so I don’t think there should be any real hangups.

No, what I mean Jason is I am hoping for my mother’s sake that the lease is signed by then… not sure what is going on right now. I am not the rights owner… I hear most of this second hand, so I am not sure of all the goings on. Last I heard was possible signing by the company by year’s end and some work starting.. Initially the company said it had an agreement that it would drill within one year of the contract signing.. That would be great… they just need to start… but not enough rigs I suppose..
Can’t find the map I had seen, but there are others… the one I had seen had a huge spot in northern part of Karnes and our land sits right over it… Hope it pays off sometime… kinda stinks seeming that kind of money is sitting there and just needs a way to get to the top… but oh well. I keep it in the back of my mind… I just hope it comes soon for my mother, she needs back surgery bad… can’t afford it right now.

If your mother has not signed and is the mineral owner, then perhaps I could provide an opportunity to expedite an executed lease and drilling timetable. Of course, a lot depends on amount of mineral acreage involved, etc…

I have been involved in leasing through the Eagleford and other resource plays as it allows me to partner in drilling with larger operators that typically do not JV/partner.

I have some property in Dewitt County. Conoco is going to be putting a rig in my place. What sort of values can I ask for concerning them damaging my live oaks and improved land (coastal fields)?
