I think you are somewhat right about the play being in its early stages in Houston County. The northwest area has all had 3D done in about 2010 by PGS. A 500-plus square mile study or shoot was done then. It’s also had multiple 2D shoots over many years, even back into the 1970s or earlier. Madison County and Leon County were both done by PGS 3D also. There are many possible formations other than the Bossier & Haynesville that are possibilities too. The “in house” land department is apparently not supervising their lease brokers. Why would you build a big location and plan a 30 million dollar well and leave large mineral interest unleased less than quarter mile away? Lots of other open acreage too. I think it is a possibility that there are AMIs (Areas Of Mutual Interest) agreed to between Expand/Chesapeake kinda “under the table.”
New info on the builder of this location just north of Latexo, Texas in Houston County. It’s supposedly being built for a company called Magnetar.
Magnetar filed a drilling permit request today.

They came. They drilled to 9000 ft, plugged this week, and left. Hope they come back with a horizontal or deeper permit.
