If a mistake has been made you may have to trace the ownership from the first owner to the current owner to find where a mistake had been made and make a correction. The county courthouse is the place to look. I found my great-grandad’s original land patent from the Bureau of Land Management with an online search, wasn’t too hard but it should be recorded in the county courthouse also.
