David & Cecilia....there was quite a bit of interest in our area of Richland Co before the oil price crash late in 2015 as 2 oil companies pulled drilling permits on our minerals a few months prior to that!
All such plans were scrapped, of course, after the crash, so we never got drilled on......If your leased mineral rights were drilled and resulted in producing well(s), then most likely the lease will remain in force as long as there is production from those wells. If, on the other hand, your minerals are drilled, and no producing wells resulted, then the lease expires at the end of the term...usually 3 years.
