Barnett Shale - Oil & Gas Discussion archives

Marble Falls Formation - I understand that the Marble Falls formation lies above the Barnett. Has anyone heard anything about this formation? There’s not a lot of information online about it and I was curious about it.

Marble Falls is historically productive along the Bend Area area - Brown County north into Jack County. Some horizontal drilling has been done for this interval followed by frac stimulation - high fluid flows with about 10% oil cuts common. Multiple companies making this play due to high oil prices.

We’ve just been contacted by EOG that we have minerals in Montague co that we were unaware of. Most of our minerals are in Oklahoma. Montague co. Sec 9 MEP and PRR survey A-521. Offer to lease is 200.00 and 1/5. Is this considered a reasonable offer for the area? Does anyone know about activity or leasing in the area. Clint Liles was able to provide a great deal of info, but just curious about leasing in the area. Any insight would be greatly appreciated!

It’s eog, If only everyone was so lucky to lease to them. They make some of the best production regardless of the play

Hello group, We have a lease that had expired a while back and would like to see if there are another company that would like to lease the minerals on our property. Our property is near south east Arlington south of Collins. Thanks for any help.

I read that a Land Grant Patent (around 1852) when claimed & brought forward to the present - the mineral rights revert back to the land, can anyone tell me more?

The following is a sponsored (paid) promotional notice:

If you own minerals in Texas or New Mexico, consider attending the NARO – Texas convention in San Antonio July 18-20, 2018. They have a great agenda, good speakers, and the cost is reasonable. This year also includes a special session for New Mexico mineral owners. The current agenda draft is attached, and a link to their signup and information page is http://www.naro-us.org/event-2824234
