I am looking at the printout of the Logan County map Ron McK gave us, and it appears to me to be an abundance of creekbeds and also watershed dams in the area of Crescent and Guthrie. So I went to AOL’s weather satellite map, which I consider the best satellite map around, and there also appears photo images of several lake-appearing places as well as what look like creeks, and I think the “Lower Cimarron River?”

But when I went to the Guthrie area some time back, I was not looking for water sources and supplies. I am now wondering about the situation with available drilling water in Logan County? I note also that it is freezing rain there today, according to AOL Weather. This is on February 21, 2013. But I think that Logan County is also the very heart of the Dust Bowl of our nation?

Hi Ron, If you check your map, you will see that in 20-17-3 in the SE/4, there is a 30-40, maybe bigger, acre lake. Everything is there except the drilling rig.

The Dustbowl certainly affected Logan County back in the day but the panhandle counties were where most of the devastation took place. Today is freezing rain/sleet but the roads have been clearing this afternoon. Hoping for better weather tomorrow. There are several creek beds in the area and it is not far from the Cimarron. I think it’s a particularly exciting site for drilling considering the proximity to Cushing, Ok and the pipeline there.

There is plenty of water in 17N 3W. Osage and Slawson are not using the water out of that large lake though, not getting along with the tree hugger, retired doctor there. I hear the well in Section 20 will be on my land. Doctor was mad about that and has tried to stop it.

Yeh, I love West Texas. My favorite restaurant in the whole world is Cattlemens Steak House just outside of El Paso. I saw lots of cliff dwellings out there, but no drilling rigs.
