# Taxes on royalties

Can anyone tell me what taxes one would normally be expected to pay. Mine is to be written as is below. Is the mineral right owner expected to pay production, severance or other excise taxes?

Lessor’s royalty shall bear its proportionate share of ad valorem taxes and production, severance, or other excise taxes."

I will only pay ad valorem taxes and the actual income tax on my royalties.
