I would like to turn my interests over to my grandson but was told I would have to create a deed. I pay taxes to Marion County Texas so I would think there would already be a deed somewhere. I would have no idea how to write a deed. Thank you.

There is either a deed or a probate that gave you the acreage. You could try hunting on [www.Texasfile.com](http://www.Texasfile.com) to see if you can find it. You need that specific wording and description in order to create the next document.

You might consider putting the acreage in your will and passing onto your grandson at your death. He would likely get a step up in value at that time and not have to pay as much capital gains taxes if he ever sold.

If you are paying production taxes on the acreage, you should be getting royalties from a well. Make sure that you have found any missing royalties by using [www.missingmoney.com](http://www.missingmoney.com).

It would be wise to get legal help with a legal document like a deed or a will as one tiny word or phrase could negate your intentions.
