Does anyone know why the Brand 1-30XH fell off production these last couple months? My royalty off this well has taken a big hit and I’d sure like to know what’s going on. It’s operated by Marathon.

I made inquiry into why production was so low and got the following response: “The Brand 1-30XH was shut down for 461 hours in May 2016 for Offset Fracking.”
This explains May but not June, so I asked about June and have not received a reply. I bet it will be the same.

After receiving virtually no royalty in August, I again inquired and was told there was a “subsurface failure” of some sort that shut down the well for part of June. They could not tell me when or if repairs are being made.

You might ask if this well is being lifted with an electric submersible pump (ESP) or a beam pumping unit. ESPs are prone to more frequent and more expensive downtime but they can lift larger volumes of fluids. Oil volumes in 2015 for this well look large enough for an ESP.

Not much of an answer but here is what they said this month:
“The Brand 1-30XH has been down the months of July and August for Solids Accumulation and Fracking.”
