Got one today from Raintree Energy, LLC. Offer is for $4,000 per acre at 3/16 lease. It is funny the wording. “Selling now could save you tens of thousands of dollars”… They act like selling at today’s tax rates is a great thing! Not selling! It does excite me a bit that maybe OCC has 29 lined out for drilling soon!

And they always seem to forget to mention that it you sell, you will usually owe capital gains tax and they will get the benefits of your royalties on any current and future wells. Since the leasing rates a couple of sections away are more than that offer, you are probably wise to hang on.
