We are new to the mineral rights world and need help. A well was drilled near our property last year. We have 50 acres that fall under the Yellow Rose well. We have not heard anything since we received the Yellow Rose map last year. Do I need to contact them to receive royalty payment info? I don’t like that I haven’t heard anything and the well was completed months ago.

Yes, contact the operator. Some states have a six month statutory payment timeframe. You might want to go to the Oil and Gas commission for Ohio and look up what the rules are for your state. Do make sure that the operator has your correct address. They have to run the Division Order title opinion for quite a few folks, so it can take several months.
