# Record of old P&A well

Curious about wells drilled in the area.
My family owns mineral rights in Carter County Section 6 Township 4 South Range 1 East. There was a well across the meridian in either Section 6 4S 1W or Section 36 Township 3 South Range 1 West. I remember seeing the rig there on a visit and my dad told me that he had heard that they had stuck drill pipe and had to cut off. Not sure when that was. Probably late 1990’s. If I knew how to look it up, I would. No idea who the operator or drilling company was. We leased to Continental via Bearcat in 2015. They supposedly ran a seismic survey. Continental let the lease expire. Any help appreciated.

or you can find it on the OK well records site. Hunt by the surface location. Use leading zeros in the Legal Location Box.

@James_Bridges, there is a well just across the Meridian in 1-4S-01W. API 35-019-20773, but it was plugged in 1971. No other wells in the area that I could see in the records. The operator at the time gave an apartment address in Oklahoma City… suspect they are no longer there.

Thanks for the input. I did not realize it had been that long. I had not lived in the area for a long time. My dad lived in Ardmore and I would come for a visit and we would drive out to the acreage. After he passed, all the cousins sold surface but kept minerals.

James Bridges I saw you were from Ardmore. You may have known my aunt depending on your age. Her name was Mary Barker. She taught high school there for many years. I hope it’s ok to post this.
