# Property taxes on mineral rights owners

I was of the understanding that the CA Supreme Court recently decided that mineral rights owners, who had neither leases OR active wells on their property, were not subject to County Property taxes. Is this correct? Does anyone have any information on this? Thanks!

I don’t know. It will be very interesting to see how they place a value on the mineral rights.
