Does anyone have any information about the Petroleum Development Corporation out of Colorado? They bought my lease from Arris Oil, but now say they have “lost my paperwork.” There are two permitted locations on our mineral rights (southeast corner of Section 69 in Pecos). This is my first time around, so I am unsure what to do with this situation. Our lease is up this month and I have not received any word from them. What do I do?

Hi Cynthia, you could try checking with your county clerk and recorder’s office as oil and gas leases are recorded with the county. They should have record of the lease. If you have a copy as well, you can review terms and if activity doesn’t commence per those terms by the end of the lease, you should be able to request a release and try to lease your minerals to another party.
