Legitimate Oil and Gas Lease offers in this relatively new frontier of what is called the Rogersville Shale. Typically, offers start off low to establish a stake. What companies have you heard from and what are their offers.

The most recent legitimate offer I know of is $250/acre from Cabot in Wayne County. I’m going to work them up some for my client. I’ll let you know how much, but it may be a while before we finalize everything because we’ve just started negotiations. I always recommend that you ask for much more than you expect to get. Cabot hasn’t said whether this is Rogersville shale development, but I’m reasonably confident it is.
