I received an offer to purchase mineral rights in Walker County. I am not really interested in selling. Has anyone else been approached and would companies offering to purchase be willing to lease instead? Does anyone know if there have been any recent leases in Walker County? This is the first offer of any kind I have been approached with in over a decade. It’s in J Parker A-36. Thanks.

You need to be more specific with your location. Need block, abstract name and number, plus section. Offers vary across the state as the geology of the reservoirs changes.

I did a month or so ago. Same company. I hold less than 2-acre interest. Research showed they may pay $250 per net acre. Talked to some landman friends who said do not sell. Often these companies hear whispers way before we do and try to buy up small interests knowing it will pay off in the not so distant future.

Don’t sell.
