Royalty owners with a “gross proceeds lease” in the King Eider and Pintail wells drilled in Sec 11 12N 9W in Canadian County should check their revenue statements carefully for erroneous deductions. The company began deducting processing fees from our very first payments for the King Eider wells. Several other wells in the same unit have never had such deductions. After writing the company, they replied that it was indeed a “mistake”. They will be refunding the deductions with interest and stop taking the “improper deductions.” I would suggest this advice shoud be applied to any gross proceeds leases on any new wells by any company, but especially Validus at present.
