# More Antero Wells

Does anybody have any firsthand information about the Pickney or Goldsmith units in Doddridge? A few miles northwest of West Union.

Jim, both wells are in the permit approval cycle ([Weekly Reports](http://www.dep.wv.gov/oil-and-gas/GI/Pages/WeeklyReports.aspx)). The Goldsmith went for approval on 08/29/14 and the Pickney went for approval on 10/17/14.

Just curious, does the permit number determine what the well number will be or are they the same number?

Hi Eleanor, I think they keep the same number after the well is drilled. Sometimes permits are cancelled.

Here is something from the WV Office of Oil and Gas website on the API numbers

Eleanor, I have seen only one instance where the well number has changed, I had three wells cancelled, but reissued on different API numbers.
