# Minors Owning Minerals Question?

We deeded a portion of our minerals to our children ages 9, 12 and 16. Are there any laws prohibiting minors from selling their own minerals? How does a minor go about selling?

A minor cannot own real property.
You can deed it to yourself as trustee to be held in trust for them until they reach majority.
