Our church was willed mineral rights in Section 34, Township 5S, Range 8E, approx. 77.51 acres

How do we go about finding out what we have and if there is income for the church?

I am going to assume that you are talking about Bryan County, Oklahoma, so my answer will be for that state. If a different state, then please correct. At this time, there has been no drilling that I can find since at least 1945. There was a spacing hearing back in 1977, but no well was ever drilled. Here is a map. The orange dot it in the middle of the section.

I am not too familiar with Illinois, but you might try this link to see if there are any wells. You can also try the Illinois Treasurer unclaimed funds website.
