My sister and I inherited one-eighth mineral rights to Section 10, Township 10 North, Range 6 West Northwest Quarter and Southwest Quarter (NE/4 and SW/4). We have been offered $200,000 each for our mineral rights. This has been in the family for years with up and down production. What is going on to make this section so valuable?

We have a one-eighth of a section, 80 mineral acres is our portion.

Apache drilled 2 wells that were supposed to come online late this year. People that want to purchase minerals in the area will follow the OCC activity and make offers according to possible production coming online.
