Just received another letter with another offer for mineral rights in Mannington District. This is 3rd offer in 2 months. Is there something about to happen there? I don’t own much and the offer has doubled. Please help.

Hard to say without the tax map number(s), but here is a snapshot of the activity… there has been little to date, but it is surrounded by some sort of production from reputable operators i.e. EQT, XTO, NE. Off hand, this will fill in with some wells in the next 5-10 years maybe sooner. It sounds like they are offering to purchase the minerals outright, are you currently getting paid on production? Maybe a company is moved by seeing the gas price, but difficult to distinguish between value of leasing and divesting in early stages. I’d advise wait and see if you can negotiate a lease closer to drilling.
