# Lamesa area oil lease or outright purchase

My wife has mineral rights to a farm her parents owned in Dawson County in Lamesa. She was called about a lease on it which included three years… last year it was up. They never drilled but there was drilling all around the area which had horses pumping oil out all around. Was there some sort of problem the new landowners caused maybe or why no drilling letting the lease expire? We are puzzled about this…any advice? Hope post is ok…trying to understand it all.
