If new wells are drilled and they are close to existing wells supplying gas to residences (\< 500’).

WHAT IF those wells are affected? Anyone know or have experience with this happening?

Thank you.

Sounds farfetched. Why would a state governing body permit someone to be able to reduce the pressure in your wellbore? Plus, the reduction would be statistically provable from your well history compared to the new wells interference, would it not? Marcellus interfering with shallow gas… show us?

You don’t really give enough information to form an answer. Where are you located? How deep is your domestic well? How deep is the proposed new well?

TomHorn is correct, the State agency of whichever State you are in will not permit new wells if they will result in uncompensated drainage.
