# How to Create a Topic

First take time to review the site by surfing around to discover how it is organized. You’re welcome to _read_ site content without registering, but you _must_ Sign Up (for free) prior to creating (or replying to) a Topic.

To create a new Topic, select the Category that is most appropriate for your question or comment. Navigate to that category. Then click the **+ New Topic** button toward the top right of your screen. This will display the text editor whereby you can type your post. Be specific with _enough detail_ for people to be able to help you.

To reply to an existing Topic, either:

a. click the Reply button at the _ **immediate** _ bottom of a post to reply to that _specific person_ who wrote that post,

**or**

b. click the Reply button at the _ **very bottom of the entire thread of posts** _ to reply to the Topic _as a whole_.
