My family has rights on land over the Brooklyn oilfield in Covington County, AL. Trying to find a company to lease rights and drill. Previous company that owned rights is no longer in business and the owner has passed away.

Oil and gas interests are unlike any other interest in land. Generally, there is nothing you can do to attract lease offers. If the geology and economics are right, they will find you. Make sure that your current name and contact information are filed with the county records for your legal description. Also, incorporate these into your estate plan for future generations.
