I wonder how Marathon lay-offs will impact us in Grady County. [Marathon Petroleum, top U.S. refiner, begins widespread job cuts | Reuters](https://www.reuters.com/article/us-refinery-layoffs-marathon-galvestonba-idUSKBN26K3I4)

Not as much as the lack of viable prices for the products produced. With $40.00 oil there will be very little development. Some, yes, in the best places, but marginal areas will be left alone.

Marathon Petroleum in the refining and marketing company. Their headquarters in in Findlay, Ohio. I think Marketing was just spun off recently.
Marathon Oil Company is the Exploration and Production company. Their headquarters is in Houston (with an office in OKC).
They were one company for a long time, but have been split for many years now.
