Section 8, Township 2 North, Range 11 East. Does anyone know anything about this area?

Sec 8 is the one with the little lake in the middle. You actually have a well that goes south into section 8 from the surface location in the SW part of 5. The current well has about .5 BCF of gas left. Trinity has active OCC cases in the township with infill drilling, so that is probably why you are getting offers. Most offers start off low, so it you do not need to sell, you might just sit back and see what happens.

Thank you both for your reply. I am understanding that .5 BCF is not considered a lot of reserve. What do you mean by OCC “cases”. I understand what infill drilling is. Thank you.

.5 BCF is 500,000 mcf. Your portion depends upon your acreage and royalty amount. The Oklahoma Corporation Commission is in charge of all permits and permissions regarding drilling wells.
Each case must go before a judge for a ruling on the mertis.

For horizontal wells, one well can hold a lease by production, but often, the one well cannot fully drain the spacing unit. Infill wells lined up like cigars are a possibility for the future if the economics work for the operator.
