What is the typical brine lease bonus, royalty, and term (duration), including any extensions of term, in or around Rains County, Texas? Can anyone offer any helpful brine leasing suggestions for this area or anywhere in Texas? Thank you.

The Texas Chapter of the National Association of Royalty Owners is working on this issue now due to recent Supreme Court of Texas rulings. A simple cut and paste would be a very bad idea. Always wise to get a good oil and gas attorney who is also knowledgeable about surface owner rights to look at the lease. You need to know if this is a saline aquifer lease which belongs to the surface owner’s realm or if it is brine produced water from an oil and gas well (mineral owner’s/operator’s realm.)
