# Found oil field contract for Cushing Oil Field in OK

In going through some old documents in my father’s things, I found a contract for purchase of an oil field in the Cushing Oil Field in Creek County, Oklahoma. Apparently, my great-grandfather entered into an agreement in 1917 to buy a plat of land there to be drilled. I have nothing else, but this is intriguing enough to look into it thoroughly. I just don’t know where to start. I cannot imagine that this will yield anything but am open to any advice on how to check into it. Any thoughts?

There should be a section, township and range in the papers. The county records in Creek County will have a document if he sold it.
