# Forced pooling app & offer from 2 different companies

In July, Echo sent me a letter stating that they had filed a forced pooling application for Carter County, Section 27, Township 1S, Range 3W. I just received a lease offer from Rough Rider for the same area. Can I accept an offer from Rough Rider? How does that affect the forced pooling?

ddd869- You can lease to whomever you choose and have up until 20 days after the date an Order is issued in the pooling cause to do so. There are always multiple companies that participate in a well, each with their own percentage. One party is determined at the Commission to be declared the operator, generally the company with the largest percentage of the unit.
