The company that has my lease drilled a producing well. There are 345 acres in the plot where we own the mineral rights and we have one well. I have been told that if a company drills a well and it starts producing, there is a rule that says they have to drill another well in a given amount of time. Is there anything to that or have I been misled?

Read your lease to see if there is a continuous drilling clause in it. It’s not a rule.
