I have inherited a small mineral interest (1/48 under 40 ac) in Block 72 of Wichita County. Does anyone know if there is anything going on there? Do I need to file a probate of my Mom’s will in this county, if it was probated and filed in Houston - Harris County? Thanks for any help you can give me!

Patricia - do you have a more specific legal description for the property? There are multiple subdivisions in Wichita County that could contain a “Block 72”.
Also, I would (at a minimum) file a certified copy of the Order Admitting the Will to Probate and the Will (and any codicil) in the official public records.

Hopefully there will be some deep horizontal wells drilled in the future for gas and condensate. Possibly in the Woodford formation.
