Is there going to be drilling south of Poteet, north of Jourdanton, Texas? I’m interested in a lease. I have 65 acres off CR 306. I also own 110 acres in McMullen County. Who would I contact? ---

Try a landman, he can give you direction. Or try some of the folks who send us letters offering to buy our mineral rights, folks like: Thomas W. Schleier & Associates, Seguin, TX Nantucket Resources, Houston, TX Eli Smith & Associates of Katy, TX If they are not interested, they can let you know who might be. ---

We didn’t want to sell anything, just lease, the usual going rate - you get 20% of the production, the lessor (oil company) gets 80%. But they take all the risks, each fracking well costs several million dollars each… you may get a lot more of the percentage if the oil is sitting there for the taking, a lot more. ---
