I received a notice from the U.S. Bankruptcy Court (Houston Division) and a letter from Chesapeake regarding the same. I inherited minerals and haven’t received a payment from them since I transferred ownership 4 years ago. As far as I can tell there is no required action on my part until I receive a notice of proposed settlement. At that time I would choose to be or not be part of the settlement class. Am I correct? Thanks in advance for your help.

Nita:

If you received the bankruptcy notice you are in the Chesapeake pay records, meaning you may have unpaid royalties. The bankruptcy plus everyone working from home does not make contact easier.
