I haven’t signed the division order yet but received a check for royalties. However, I think it is only for 20 acres. What if I cash the check and the interest is not correct? Am I bound to that interest amount? ---

That is basically what the division order is for—to verify your interest and get you paid. In Oklahoma, the oil company still has to pay you even if you do not sign, but it makes it easier on everyone. Go ahead and cash the check and work with the division order analyst—he or she will correct any mistakes but they have to be told that you think there is an error. ---
