# Buying Oil from the Saudis

I am not clear on why we are buying oil from the Saudis. Anyone know?

To use in our refineries. Due to sheep running our EPA, we haven’t built a new refinery in the US since the early 70s so we aren’t able to refine WTI unless we mix it with heavy crude from Canada. All oils are not created equal. And we buy their crude because they buy our fighter jets.
