# Any opinions on Encana purchase of Newfield

Is Encana’s purchase of Newfield a good thing? Any ideas on changes or effects on drilling plans.

Just my two cents, but I think Encana is a second-rate operator with underperforming assets across the board. That said, it typically takes a while to get up and running at full speed on new acquisition packages, but Encana bought these assets for a reason, so I imagine they’ve got a development plan in mind. Whether or not they’ll be able to coordinate everything and pull it off like they’re planning remains to be seen.
