# Any Leasing going on in Mississippi

Is there any leasing going on in Amite County, Mississippi? My mom owns mineral rights in Amite County and I manage them for her.

My family owns mineral rights in Mississippi, in Jones County and Covington County. Covington County (but not Jones County) has mineral leases and other property records online and searchable. That has been extremely helpful for finding current mineral leases there. I suggest you check whether Amite County has its property records online. If so, they probably would be on the Chancery Clerk’s website. And if not, I’d guess that you could search property records at the county courthouse. The Chancery Clerk’s office should be able to tell you whether that can be done. From experience, it’s tedious but somewhat interesting.

Last leasing I see was in 2022. If you are more specific with the section, township and range, can narrow in a bit.
