The woman assumes that she is entitled to Mr. Cotten’s intellect and experience. She didn’t want to treat him with respect, much less pay him for what he does very well. It is shameful that people act this way more often than not.
I’ve had similar experiences lately and am not sure how much longer I will be so gracious. I respect Mr. Cotten’s long record of generous behavior.
