Following is a special message from the ownership and management of the Mineral Rights Forum.
To the thousands and thousands of members who obey the rules and participate on the forum in the spirit of both giving and receiving, thank you. We welcome you and yours alike. The 'internet age' has afforded connectivity among individuals and groups in unprecedented fashion, and this forum for America's mineral owners is an ideal example of people helping people.
A special thanks to those who routinely help others, without expecting anything in return. We regularly receive comments from our members describing how they've been helped - some in very significant ways. Since 2009, we've grown to near 25,000 members, providing an avenue for America's mineral owners to meet, greet, and learn. However...
To the relatively few:
- who can't seem to follow the rules
- who easily take offense with and toward others
- whose sole purpose is to earn a commission by wedging themselves between parties in less than forthright ways
- who are seeking something for nothing
- who only care about advancing their commercial interests and are unwilling to pay for straightforward advertising
- who are angry and looking for someone of whom to blame or to exhibit rudeness
To these, we want to let you know that this is not the place for you.

We specifically encourage you to go directly to our About page and read it in detail, including the FAQ page, the TOS page, and the Privacy page. If there's anything there to which you think you cannot or will not abide, then we ask and recommend that you cease using this forum. There is a link on your My Settings page, Account tab, at the bottom of the page titled 'Delete my account'. Simply go here and terminate your account.
If you think any of the content you've posted to the forum site is in violation of our policies, we encourage you to immediately review it, and delete what does not fit within our guidelines.
Over the past few weeks, we have been performing tests on the site content, identifying content and users who are outside the bounds of our policies. Immediately following this email notice, we will begin the process of purging content and users who are outside of our rules. For most of these cases, the basis for user suspension and/or content deletion is quite plain. For a relatively few, we'll contact you with a warning and further clarification.
In this letter, we'll not belabor or attempt to restate the rules. You can easily read them at our About page. We will however highlight that if you have written content that:
Disrespects Others - uses words like "stupid, idiot, crook, scum, etc" toward others, you are subject to having your account suspended or deleted without further noticeConstantly Solicits Private Contact - is consistently seeking to have users contact you privately so that you can pursue your commercial interests, you are subject to having your account suspended or deleted without noticePursues a referral strategy - refers users back to websites you control (ie, using the site as a link referral source), you are subject to having your account suspended or deleted without notice.Contains Disallowed info - contains your phone number, your website URL, and/or email address, you are subject to having your account suspended or deleted without notice. The site provides for a personal (not private) message (PM) capability for some UsersSeeks Buying/Selling Minerals - is soliciting within the forum for a buyer for your minerals, or soliciting within the forum for those who may have minerals for sale, you are subject to having your account suspended or deleted without notice.
All content submitted to this site is subject to crawling and indexing by internet search engines such as Google, Yahoo, Bing etc. Thus, anything you write here is subject to being viewed throughout the world by the public at large. If this gives you pause, then we ask you to refrain from writing or posting to this site.
