Australis acquired all of Encana's properties in the TMS.  Encana had exercised their 2 year option and it just expired on March 1st. Will be curious to see if Australis renews any of the expired leases and if so at what price.

My Name is Tommy C Robinson.   I recently inherited 25 acres of land in Wayne County Mississippi from my grandfather, Tommie Robinson.  He left a total of 35 acres.  The other 10 will go to my cousin.  Right now it is still in probate until June.  The location is at Section 1. Township 6, North, Range 9, West  (near the S. Thompson Creek Feld)  in Wayne County MS.  I found papers in my grandfather's things that indicated that Shell Oil had leased the land back in 1957.   I am interested in leasing this land and would love to see a rig go up for gas or oil.   I’m not sure if a company is leasing land in this area at this time.  I would appreciate a response.

I own a partial interest in 151acres and some of the other owners have already leased. Does the oil company have to have all 100% leased before they can drill on any of this land? Also if their lease was for a small amount will that pretty much determine what I can get on my lease? I've read stories of leases in the thousands in other plays, paid because as one writer put it the oil company had to to complete a block or unit. Is my partial interest enough to cause them to agree to a much higher price if I hold out for it?
