Comment by Toni Everett yesterday Carol, You had asked about the pipeline, used to be AMOCO, now owned by Centurion, a subsidiary of Oxy. Got a pamphlet (sp? I really should know that spelling, Chrystene Hall would want me to get it right) in the mail yesterday. Will give you the highlights.
Title: The Centurion Cline Shale Pipeline Project
Highlights of Article: Centurion proposed to expand its pipeline system in the Cline Shale region of Coke, Irion, Mitchell, Sterling, and Tom Green counties...in a safe and sound manner... utilizing state of the art technology for pipeline replacement.
The slightly larger underground pipeline will allow more West Texas crude oil to be delivered to Colorado City, Texas, Centurion's regional terminal, reducing vehicular transportation of oil on local highways.
The system will have the capacity to carry 75,000 bbls/day of crude oil and can be expanded as production grows. The pipeline will originate 100 mi. south of Colorado City and will unclude truck uploading facilities at Centurion's Texas Barnhart, Sterling City, and Arden stations.
The existing 10 and 12 in pipeline will be replaced with a new 12-inch pipeline. The pipeline is expected to be completed by the first quarter of 2014.
It says to visit Centurion's website for more info: www.centurionpipeline.com
Article also lists a contact person: Linda Gully (432) 686-1480
Comment by Toni Everett on Friday Cheryl, They could but it would be counter productive. The faster they unload the well, without pulling it too hard, the sooner the return on their investment. Pulling it too hard can bring in trash and obstruct some of the fractures.
Mr. Everett says depending on the amount of gas trapped in the oil, some back pressure is held at the surface to keep the gas in suspension so it does not break out in the pump, thus increasing pump efficiency.
Some people take this to mean they are "holding back" for whatever reason, but actually it increases production.
In other words, the well is doing what it will do, and not held back on purpose.
We understand there is another well staked by Devon on CR 337, near what is known as Four Corners, or the intersection of CR 337 and CR 121, a little west of that intersection. It has not been permitted, I think it is on the Spade Ranch. Will see what develops there.
