Being offered a contract to lease the rights in Sec 24 08N 10W from Chesapeake. Anyone know what the going rate / acre might be for 3 or 5 years?

CINDY, THE LEASE WAS NEGIOATED MANY YEARS AGO AND HAS BEEN BOUGHT AND SOLD SEVERAL TIMES. THE CURRENT OPERATOR IS LINN ENERGY. THE WELL HAS BEEN PRODUCING SINCE ABOUT 1981.

What energy company has leased your land? Sec 24  ?

I have inherited some mineral rights in Sec. 24 12w 13n which has a producing gas well(vertical) at a depth of 13,000 ft. It began producing in about 1981 and is currently producing at about 1,600/month. Does any one have knowledge of horizontal drilling activity in the area on older wells? The location is close to Hydro and just south of I-40.

Nothing since the dry hole in 1983.

There may be recent leasing activity, but i cannot search the county records online.

Someone else may know of something.

If a probate is necessary, you will need to hire an attorney.  It depends on what the title looks like now.  It may be possible to just file an Affidavit of Death and Heirship.

AS far as what is going on in that area, let me look that up and get back with you.

I live out of state and my husband and 2 of his brothers
inherited mineral rights in Oklahoma. My husband passed away in August, and I need to transfer ownership to me. There are 3 deeds involved. In Caddo County:
the southwest quarter of Section 24, Township 6 North, Range 11 West containing
160 acres. In Lincoln County: the northeast quarter of Section 32, Township 17
North, Range 4 East containing 160 acres. In Dewey County: The southwest
quarter of Section 24, Township 19 North, Range 18 West containing 160 acres. I
would like to find out if there is any activity going on nearby (gas drilling).
I also need to know who to contact to get the ownership name changed. Really
would appreciate your help. Thanks, Linda French Bradley
