Mineral Rights Forum

America’s conversation place for mineral & royalty owners

For the first time, the EPA has implicated that fracking may be to blame for causing groundwater pollution.  The news, which was realesed on 12/8/11, involves a small community in central Wyoming where residents are complaing about water wells reeking of chemicals.  Further, these findings were specific to this community and it was noted that the fracking occurred below the drinking water aquifer and close to water wells.  The EPA emphasized that this this was a highly isolated event but in my opinion, the media will spin any incidence that involves fracking.
